Derby Days 2024
We are a month out from Sigma Chi’s annual Derby Days week! Held annually, Derby Days is Sigma Chi’s week-long philanthropic project. Teams will compete and raise as much money as possible for The Huntsman Cancer Foundation. 2024 FUNDRAISING GOAL
ALPHA EPSILON CHAPTER RAISES NEARLY $20,000 FOR CANCER RESEARCH
Last school year, we held three philanthropies: Sigma Carnival, Derby Days, and our biggest philanthropy yet, Sigma Palooza. At Sigma Carnival, we had cotton candy, snow cones, a dunk thank and yard games. In the dunk tank were brothers and pledges who volunteered to dunked. For Derby Days we had a volleyball tournament, talent show, dance competition, and a banner competition where each team designed a banner. For Sigma Palooza, we had a concert in the back parking lot with a couple local artists such as our recent alumni Brandon Zohlen. For our main act we had multiple time Billboard 200 artist Sammy Adams.
For the current 2023-2024 school year, we have set a lofty goal of raising $20,000 yet again. So far this year we have had our annual Sigma Carnival, with cotton candy, snow cones, a dunk thank and yard games. All of the ticket sales going toward HCI, and have a few philanthropies still in the works, including Derby Days.
